A Bar Mitzvah is a Jewish coming-of-age milestone that marks when a child becomes responsible for their actions within the Jewish community. Traditionally, this occurs at age 13 for boys. During the service, Luke will participate in leading prayers and read from the Torah, sharing what he has learned. It is a meaningful religious moment and a joyful celebration with family and friends.
Not at all. The service is open to everyone, and we are honored to share this experience with family and friends of all backgrounds.
The service includes prayers, music, and readings. You will be guided throughout, and no prior knowledge is needed — simply being present is what matters most.
Yes. Guests are welcome to attend the Shabbat service if they wish. Following the service, those who attend are invited to join us for Oneg Shabbat (challah, juice and chatting).
Light refreshments will be available following the services on Friday and Saturday, but they are not full meals. A full dinner will be served at the evening celebration on Saturday.
Dress is typically respectful and comfortable, similar to what you might wear to a church or formal gathering. Guests are welcome to wear the same outfit to both the service and the evening celebration, or change into something more fun and less formal for the evening.
You are absolutely welcome to attend just the service. We understand that schedules and commitments — including sports and other activities — can make it difficult to attend everything. If you are able, joining us for the service is especially meaningful to us, as it is the heart of this milestone.
To help everyone stay present and enjoy the celebration, we will be collecting phones from all kids at the start of the evening celebration. Phones will be safely held and returned at the end of the night.
In case of an emergency, kids can reach out to Luke’s parents or the event coordinator at any time to access their phones.
Parking information for each event is listed on the Schedule page.
